Feature Articles
The very first article I had published found a place in a respected national magazine — The Nation. It may have been my best. It had facts, it had my heart, and it had a prod:
"Cashing in On Fear and Fantasy" (The Nation, October 11, 1971) complained that women's magazines were designed to make us feel weak and inadequate, therefore in need of propping up by advertisers' products. Has anything changed?
Sadly, it paid only $75 for about two months of work. Article writing has, ever since, been a sideline, byproduct of other projects, and a way to continue my education.
